From July 2 to 4, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) will hold the Fourth National Day of Ordinary Medical Services, to grant consultations to beneficiaries of family medicine, specialty and surgery.
Through a statement, the IMSS explained that the goal in the 35 state representations is to carry out 19,355 specialty consultations, 57,598 in family medicine and 3,61 surgeries. Meanwhile, in the 25 High Specialty Medical Units (UMAE) it is planned to carry out one thousand 939 consultations and 517 surgical interventions.

230 resources of the Directorate of Medical Benefits will participate, the 35 holders of the IMSS representations in the states, with their respective medical benefits staff and coordinators, as well as the 25 directors and directors of UMAE.
The Social Security invited the entitled population to go to its medical units in case of having pending consultations and surgeries, these attentions are carried out under strict safety and hygiene protocols by the health personnel to avoid contagion of COVID-19, and made available to patients the telephone line 800 623 2323.

As part of the “100 days to move the IMSS” strategy, the medical units at the three levels of care concentrate the provision of services to patients who need to be seen in a medical unit due to their ailments.
Derived from the strategy in some medical services at the national level, the goal set has been exceeded, for example, there is an advance of 114% in detections of cervical-uterine cancer, 143% of diabetes mellitus and 193% of mastograms. In addition, specialty surgeries and organ and tissue transplants have been performed.
As of June 27, the progress in the recovery of ordinary services nationwide is 83.8% in specialty consultations and 77.6% in surgeries.
The southeast region of the country stands out, which has practically covered the care of specialty consultations (98.3%), while in the northern region the recovery from surgeries is 81.5%.
