The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced changes in her cabinet during monday’s conference.
Martí Batres Guadarrama will be the new secretary of government, replacing Jose Alfonso Suarez del Real, who will now be head of office of the Head of Government. He will be in charge of the inter-institutional relationship and projects such as the commemorations for the 500th anniversary of the fall of Mexico-Tenochtitlan.

The president also reported that Carlos Augusto Morales López will be private secretary of the Head of Government
While Sebastián Ramírez will be the new coordinator of social communication.
The fifth change announced is that of Luis Ruiz Hernandez, who was director general of transportation engineering, will now be undersecretary of Transportation in the Secretariat of Mobility (Semovi).
“Happy with this strengthening of the Government of Mexico City and to incorporate new colleagues to this great work that we are performing from the government of the city and that represents the fourth transformation from the Government of Mexico City,” said the president after announcing the changes.

When asked if his new position will be to operate in favor of Sheinbaum Pardo with a view to the 2024 election, Batres Guadarrama said that his work “is very clear, written in the law and I will work in that framework, covering the tasks assigned to me by the head of government,” such as governance in the city and with all the actors in the capital.
“We are going to work very seriously and we will not be distracted by other things,” added Batres Guadarrama, who will ask for leave of absence on Tuesday during the permanent session of Congress.
This will bring another change in the cabinet, since Cesar Cravioto, current Commissioner for Reconstruction is a substitute for Martí Batres, so he will have to take his seat in the Senate and someone else will be appointed to the commission, the head of government said.
These changes are in addition to the one on June 29, when the president removed from her position the director of the Metro, Florencia Serranía, who was replaced by Guillermo Calderón, until then director of Electric Transport.
