translated from Spanish: Daughter of Roberto Sandoval, former governor of Nayarit, is linked to trial

The daughter of Roberto Sandoval, former governor of Nayarit, Lidy Alejandra “S”, was linked to trial for her probable responsibility in the crime of operations with resources of illicit origin.
At the hearing, Lidy Alejandra “S” had received the order of non-attachment to the proceedings, however, after the Office of the Attorney-General of the Republic (FGR) filed the appeal, the Court decided to revoke the non-binding order issued by the District Judge Specialized in the Accusatory Criminal System, attached to the Federal Criminal Justice Centre in the State of Nayarit, and consequently issued the order linking the proceedings.
On March 1, a federal judge issued an arrest warrant against the former governor of Nayarit and his daughter.

The former governor acquired properties that he put in his daughter’s name, however, she was a college student so she had no way of acquiring those properties during the period from 2009 to 2017.
According to what the FGR itself reported at the time, Roberto Sandoval was identified as an “inordinate amount of operations reported as suspicious” to the detriment of the public coffers of the entity he governed.

“In addition, there is evidence, both in common and federal jurisdiction, of his alleged connection with various people who have been arrested in a foreign country for crimes related to organized crime,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
According to initial inquiries, the amount of suspicious transactions in which Sandoval and his first circle have been implicated exceeds 1,196 million pesos. These operations presume a link to the Jalisco Cartel New Generation (Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación – CJNG).
