It turns out that the book is being adapted into a film by the Argentine writer and founder of Editorial Orsai and Orsai Cine, Hernán Casciari, who gathered that more than 2 thousand people joined to finance the project (according to what was consigned by the specialized medium Variery), thus becoming “producing partners”.
The film will be directed by the winner of the Contest of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), Ana García Blaya (“The good intentions”), Joaquín Marqués and Gabriel Grosvald as producers, and Christian Basilis as director of scripts. The novel won the 2017 Tigre Juan Award; and tells the story of Lucas Pereyra, a writer who travels from Buenos Aires to Montevideo to collect money that has been sent to him from abroad and that he cannot receive in his country due to exchange restrictions.
