An uncomfortable moment was experienced this Wednesday during the presentation of the new DNI for non-binary people in the Casa Rosada with the presence of Alberto Fernández and a young man who after receiving the document displayed a t-shirt that said “We are not an X”. While Fernández and Gómez Alcorta read with astonishment the contents of the t-shirt, disguising with a smile the discomfort of the moment, a person from the audience raised a poster and shouted reinforced the repudiation of the X.

According to the regulations, the nomenclature “X” in the field “sex” will comprise the following meanings: non-binary, indeterminate, unspecified, indefinite, uninformed, self-perceived, not recorded; or another meaning with which the person who does not feel included in the male/female binomial could be identified.
