Health authorities recorded a new high in the daily count of COVID-19 cases in the third wave of infection, adding 16,421.
So far, 2 million 726 thousand 160 people have fallen ill with the virus in Mexico, since the beginning of the epidemic, however, the Ministry of Health estimates that 107,963 (3.7%) they are active cases due to presenting symptoms in recent days.

In addition, the trend of cases continues to increase, now at 47%, between the 26th and 27th weeks of the year.
Authorities also confirmed 328 deaths from COVID, bringing the total to 237,954 officially recognized deaths from the disease.
Record in COVID vaccination
In Mexico, 58 million 249 thousand 143 vaccines against COVID have been applied; 1 million 376 thousand 213 of them administered this July 22, the highest number for a day of vaccination.
The doses correspond to 40 million 632 thousand 434 people vaccinated with at least one dose, 45% of the adult population in Mexico.
Of the vaccinated population, 57% already have the complete scheme.
