Cotija, Michoacan.- On Thursday afternoon, the lifeless bodies with gunshot wounds of 8 men were located on a property located on the border of the state of Michoacan with Jalisco. The deceased are unknown according to the authorities.
With regard to the multiple crimes, the Office of the Attorney-General of the State of Michoacán (FGE) has begun the investigation in a site set up as a camp in the municipality of Cotija.
Personnel of the Expert Services and Crime Scene Unit (USPEC) went to a property located in the place known as Cerro Verde, near the road to the town of Los Gallineros, where the bodies of eight people – so far unidentified – who were wearing tactical clothing, were found dead; at first glance they have wounds produced by gunshots.
During the proceedings at the site, ballistic evidence and tactical accessories were located, fixed, collected and packed and will be the subject of analysis.
The bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service so that the autopsy of law can be performed and the investigation work to clarify the facts can continue.
