translated from Spanish: Yasna Provoste after funa at the fair: “We are a generation that was never afraid of the worst moments of the dictatorship, we will not be afraid of intolerance either”

Through a video on Facebook, the presidential candidate of the Christian Democracy, Yasna Provoste, referred to the episode of a fair in Puente Alto, where she was reprimed by people who were in the place, and had to withdraw from the sector.
“It was an unpleasant situation of a lot of shouting, lying, aggressiveness, but it didn’t happen anymore,” she said, referring to some of the slogans of those who rebuked her, and which alluded to the events that triggered her dismissal as education minister in 2008 over the boisterous case of subsidies, and that have been recalled on social media now that she is in the presidential race.
Provoste added that “only verbal violence was present, there was no physical violence against me or the leaders of the fairs who were the ones who invited me,” to the members of the Feria Grande de Puente Alto, located one block from the plaza of the populous commune.
Along with thanking the demonstrations of solidarity received by the episode, Provoste indicated that “I have always been on the ground and a situation like the one I experienced is absolutely alien to me,” and despite the setback he indicated that “nothing is going to ameliolate our effort to continue being in contact with the citizens.”
The Falangist letter also called against political intolerance, noting that “nothing justifies violence, I am going to continue playing it for dialogue, for the construction of a different Chile. There are many more of us who want a Chile at peace.”
At the end he remarked that “I have played it in very difficult moments. We are part of a generation that was never afraid of the worst moments of the dictatorship. We will not be afraid of intolerance either, because we want to rebuild our country in peace.”
