translated from Spanish: New lockdown continues in Michoacan due to 3rd wave of Covid-19: Silvano

Morelia, Michoacán.- Silvano Aureoles Conejo, governor of Michoacán, asked the population and municipal authorities not to lower their guard in the face of the increase in cases of covid-19, because the entity is on the verge of a red light and therefore it will be necessary to restrict events and mass activities in closed spaces again.
In a message issued through his social networks, the president also said that this situation reconsiders the health authorities allowing capacity and activities in closed spaces or commercial squares.
Due to the mutation of the virus, the governor said that Michoacan is facing a new pandemic and it is time to take urgent measures to prevent the increase in cases, since the young population is the most affected at the moment.
For this reason, he asked the municipal presidents not to allow mass events and not to lower their guard at least until August 30, the date on which the changes of government are scheduled and to also provide facilities to make the vaccination day.
Regarding the return to school, he said, it would only be for high school and university students, as long as security measures are guaranteed for the students.
Finally, Silvano Aureoles said that hospital occupancy in the entity is increasing and that is worrying, since most of the patients are young and until a few months ago it was not so common.
