Health authorities reported 21,250 recent cases of COVID-19 in the country, the first time in a three-day streak that the number reaches more than 21,000 positive cases.
This brings to the total 3 million 271,128 people who have become ill since the beginning of the epidemic.
In addition, the Ministry of Health recorded 986 additional deaths caused by COVID-19, so there are at least 255,452 deaths recognized by the disease.

As of August 25, of the total confirmed cases, 129,251 (3.7%) are active cases of COVID due to symptoms in the last 14 days.
According to the daily technical report, the trend in cases decreased by 7%, between the 31nd and 32nd weeks of the year.
Health authorities reported a 42% reduction in hospital occupancy nationwide, with general bed occupancy of 54% and ventilator beds of 47%.
63% of the adult population has already been vaccinated
So far, 81 million 923 thousand 702 doses against the virus have already been applied, being that only this Wednesday progress was made with 648 thousand 942 more.
According to the daily technical report of the Ministry of Health, the total figure corresponds to a national coverage of 63% in the population over 18 years of age.
