However, its consumption also increases in the domestic market, since it can increase by more than 20%, especially of the red strains. In addition to Wine Day at the beginning of the month, the Fiestas Patrias are a great opportunity to celebrate with good Chilean wine and a good tourist panorama.
Central Valley
Viña TerraMater, located in the heart of the Maipo Valley, invites you to celebrate the national holidays by entering the nature of the Chilean countryside and connecting with Mother Earth just 1 hour from Santiago.
With activities for the whole family, the vineyard has six different tours that allow you to get to know the ancient vineyards and discover the path that their wines and olive oils travel.
Among them, the Mediterranean Tour stands out, in which you can learn about the bases of Mediterranean life that the vineyard seeks to promote and enjoy through good living, in addition to tasting three wines and two olive oils at the Casa de Turismo de Viña TerraMater.
The tour also includes a tour of the winemaking room, Guard Barrel Room and packaging plant, to end with an explanation about the extraction of the oil in the machinery museum.
Those who celebrate these national holidays in the vineyard can also taste a glass of the typical Chicha La Consentida, also known as the “chicha pituca” for being more subtle and elegant to be clarified.
Colchagua Valley
Viu Manent, chosen among the Best Vineyards in the World 2020, invites you to spend a Family Holiday enjoying the Colchagua Valley.
The Rayuela Wine & Grill restaurant will have traditional dishes cooked on the grill and also in a clay oven to highlight the characteristic flavor of the huasa area in which the vineyard is located.
Another gastronomic alternative is the Café de la Viña that stands out for its pastry menu and self-made sourdough breads, as well as gourmet sandwiches to accompany a glass of wine or a rich coffee.
Likewise, Viu Manent will have different activities for adults and children, among which outdoor tours such as the E-bike tour that allows you to travel the interior roads of the vineyards on electric bicycles.
For those who prefer to discover on foot the charms of a traditional Chilean vineyard, the Tour Walk through the Vineyards invites you to get in direct contact with the nature of the Valley.
The classic Carriage Tour will also be available for a horse-drawn carriage ride and part of a guided tasting of five wines. Apalta Valley
The Apalta Valley is recognized worldwide as the jewel of the Colchagua wine area. And it’s because many of Chile’s best wines have their origin in that place. Apart from being the cradle of great wines, Apalta is also a natural beauty to visit and know, which seems to be reborn with the arrival of spring.
The flowering season stands out in the vineyard La Roblería in Apalta de Ventisquero Wine Estates. In this place various activities are offered that mix the best of oenology with impressive landscapes, accompanied by the best view of Colchagua. Today Ventsiquero is part of the Apalta Passport through which it joined three other vineyards in the valley for tourism.
A great option is the sunset of wine by the glass that includes tasting and live music begins at 5 pm at the viewpoint of Apalta, where you can appreciate the best views of the vineyards and the valley. A novelty for this season is the “Wine and Blues”, a celebration that seeks to give continuity to the sunset with food and an open Wine Bar.

Both walks make a tour of the countryside reaching the vines of Vértice (more than 450 meters high) where you can enjoy the native forest, vines and taste – from that natural viewpoint – a bottle of Vertex.
