“The Night of the Museums” returns: When and how will the 2021 edition be?

On October 30, The Night of the Museums will be held, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires. The most anticipated cultural night of the year, will have the particularity that the Museums will go out to the street to invite less contemplative and more participatory visits;  taking the public space in a journey that will connect artists, public and spaces with unexpected and surprising interventions. More than 100 museums, emblematic buildings and cultural spaces will open their doors for free from 7 pm to 2 pm and transport is added to the proposal so that the public can move around the City.Neighbors and tourists will be able to approach by subways (all lines and the premetro from 18 to 2) and collectives for free, showing the “free pass” that is downloaded from BOTI (the City’s virtual assistant, 11-5050-0147). To get there by bike, more than 2300 bicycles arranged throughout the city at the Ecobici stations.
Those who prefer to arrive by car and have TelePASE, the city’s highways will raise their barriers between 6 and 3 p.m.

The Illia highway will do so at the Retiro tolls and Salguero and Sarmiento revenues; the 25 de Mayo at the entrance and exit tolls Alberti and Parque Avellaneda; another option is to order a taxi from BA Taxi, the free app that connects users with taxi drivers in the city. It is safe and easy to use, and can be paid in cash, by debit or credit card. In addition, it allows you to follow the route of the taxi and see the driver’s data in real time.

The Vuelta de Rocha Craft Fair (Caminito) will have an infinity of proposals, including exhibitions of plastic artists, sample of photographs, woodcut workshop and a Buenos Aires filleting workshop. The cobblestones of the Vuelta de Rocha will be painted in colors marking the Camino de Quinquela, on the banks of the Riachuelo.

Colón Fábrica opens its doors and will have a guided tour of the installation of decoration and costumes of Opera and Ballet of the Colón.La PROA Foundation will have the exhibition “The Suite”, guided tours and didactic kit. The Benito Quinquela Martín Museum goes out to the street with an outdoor exhibition, there will also be the House-museum exhibitions and the Collection of Argentine Art, the collection of figureheads and Sculpture Terraces, the exhibition “A turn without a screw: urban imaginations”, the didactic space on the Rivera for boys and girls and guided tours.

The Andreani Foundation will have the exhibitions “Ufficio di Autoconoscenza” by Mariano Giraud, “Microcyclonic catheter / Timeless economy” by Lux Lindner, “Clementina” by Agustín Mendilaharzu and Constanza Feldman and “Supernova Generation” by Sofía Medici and Luz Algranti.There will also be an interactive installation of a technological nature, sculptures made from 3D scanning and modeling, drawing, animation, audiovisual projection and manifestos. That night, the boats that clean the Riachuelo, will show the process that takes place and will have tours on board to navigate those emblematic waters.

The Usina del Arte will have a great cultural night. In its square, facilities and surroundings there will be a program designed to enjoy with friends and family. Ignacio De Lucca will inaugurate his work “Portraits of Quarantine” with a tour open to the public. You can also enjoy the murals by Leila Tschopp and Mariano Ferrante, the work “Cúmulo 1” by Luis Terán and “Exuvia” by Andrea Moccio, with a guided tour. The Central Hall will be the meeting point for the visits “Street art boquense” and the tour “Usina Experience: guided tours of the building”. For the youngest, between 0 and 3 years old, there will be the Sala iUpiiiii, the first cultural space for early childhood in the city. For children between 4 and 12 years old: Libroteca, literary activities, the Caravana project and the Show Fogoncito-Mate Dulce and the workshopEl atelier de los chicos, Club Urbano con Hip Hop, Street Dance, 3LMENTES Interactive Performance, Estación Tatú, Karaoke, hairdresser and make up.

In the Plaza de la Usina shows of Copla Colores (Infantil), Cecilia Pahl Quinteto, Sista V – all black music, Barrio Lindo with VJ, Plaza Show Central La Grande, Tremor and the Dj Set Final Rixa b2b Tessa (Caza Beats). There will also be gastronomy, sustainability & well-being. El Moderno will exhibit the exhibitions “Everything is fiction” by Washington Cucurto, “Una flare stubborn. On Calle Lanín, an open-air art space, “Obras de Marino Santa María”, “Estandartes de artistas” and art videos will be exhibited. There will be a Mosaiquismo workshop for children and adults and open-air music. The BA Museums will reopen their doors so that the public can enjoy their exhibits and many extraordinary experiences.
