The home of writer Elena Poniatowska was raided on Sunday afternoon, while she was out eating with her family.
From the home, located in the Chimalistac neighborhood, Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office, they stole a laptop and a CD player, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reported.
The assault occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., while the journalist was at the Club Centro Libanés restaurant, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, celebrating the honorary doctorate she received from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), reported the newspaper Reforma.
“We went back to the house and they had gotten in. My mom’s bedroom, closet and part of the back studio were relaxed,” said Felipe Haro Poniatowski, the journalist’s son, in an interview with the media.
She explained that the writer Elena Poniatowska is perfectly fine, “she is neither distressed nor anything.”
