Elena Poniatowska’s house is raided in Chimalistac

The home of writer Elena Poniatowska was raided on Sunday afternoon, while she was out eating with her family.
From the home, located in the Chimalistac neighborhood, Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office, they stole a laptop and a CD player, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office reported.
The assault occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., while the journalist was at the Club Centro Libanés restaurant, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, celebrating the honorary doctorate she received from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), reported the newspaper Reforma.

“We went back to the house and they had gotten in. My mom’s bedroom, closet and part of the back studio were relaxed,” said Felipe Haro Poniatowski, the journalist’s son, in an interview with the media.
She explained that the writer Elena Poniatowska is perfectly fine, “she is neither distressed nor anything.”
Investigation folder for theft initiated
The Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico City reported that it has already initiated an investigation folder for the crime of burglary of a room without violence.

In a statement, he indicated that, after receiving the complaint, the agent of the Public Ministry of the Territorial Investigation Prosecutor’s Office in the mayor’s office gave intervention to personnel of the General Coordination of Forensic Investigation and Expert Services, particularly experts in photography, dactyloscopy, criminalistics and valuation.
He added that agents of the Investigative Police of the prosecutor’s office carry out the analysis of public and private video surveillance cameras that yield information about the facts.
