Investigation into alleged subsidy fraud: GOPE raids Commons Party headquarters

A team of the GOPE of Carabineros raided during this afternoon the headquarters of the Commons Party within the framework of the investigation of officiate initiated by the prosecutor’s office for the surrender of Campaign expenses to the Electoral Service of Karina Oliva to the regional governorate. In that line, the prosecutor Milibor Bugueño, who accompanied the investigations, said that “the Prosecutor’s Office in parallel with the department within the OS7, of crimes associated with money laundering, and with them we are carrying out all the proceedings aimed at establishing what has been denounced.” In addition, as reported by La Tercera PM, the prosecutor Héctor Barros during this afternoon arrived at the home of the former candidate for governor of the RM, Karina Oliva, with the aim of carrying out proceedings within the framework of the investigation for an alleged fraud in campaign expenses. The visit to Oliva’s residence would be to make voluntary contact with her, the aforementioned media said. It should be remembered that the ex officio investigation was based on the recommendations of a report by the Anti-Corruption Unit of the National Prosecutor’s Office (UNAC) and in charge of the investigation was the persecutor Barros.This is part of the complaint made by Ciper regarding the case of millionaire payments to advisers of the campaign for regional governor of Oliva.
