AMLO rules out jorge Alcocer’s departure from the Ministry of Health

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ruled out the departure of Jorge Alcocer from the Ministry of Health; he said it’s a rumor.
He stated that he is very happy and satisfied with the performance of the secretary, whom he described as a wise, upright, honest, sensitive and humane man. “Imagine how we’re going to change it,” he said.
“Dr. Alcocer was a rumor, we are very happy and satisfied with the doctor, he is a wise, upright, honest, sensitive, human man. I don’t think there has been a secretary of health like that, that I remember no, National Science Award, but above all a very human, honest people,” he said.

At a press conference, he said that he invited the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, to the visit to Washington because he is in charge of the program to combat COVID-19 and to recognize his work, which “angers” his adversaries.
“It makes the reactionaries very angry, those in the conservative bloc and sometimes you don’t have to forget your sense of humor. You have to be cheerful without mocking; it’s so that you learn, softly, carefully, not test them much,” he said.

On Friday, Health Secretary Jorge Alcocer said his work will end in three years, but if President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador asks him to leave, he leaves.
“I, in principle, am perhaps the least stable here, I will be for three years, but if Mr. President says that, until tomorrow, then I am leaving today and ahead,” he said during his speech at the closing of the International Congress mental health and prevention of addictions in Acapulco, Guerrero.
On November 10, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador warned the heads of the Ministry of Health and the Health Institute for Welfare (Insabi) that he will no longer accept “pretexts” in the shortage of medicines and demanded that they resolve the issue.
He assured that he will not be calm until there is a sufficient supply of medicines and care.
“This goes for Juan Ferrer, for Dr. Alcocer: I do not want to hear that there is a lack of medicines and I do not want excuses of any kind, we cannot sleep peacefully without medicines to care for the sick,” he told them in front of the rest of the federal cabinet.
