Radical Party makes official its support for Gabriel Boric in the face of the second round

The Radical Party announced on Tuesday its support for the presidential candidate of Apruebo Dignidad, Gabriel Boric, in the face of the second round on December 19 in which he will face the far-right standard-bearer, José Antonio Kast.through a statement, the collectivity said that “the National Directive of the collectivity, together with the regional presidents, elected parliamentarians and union and social leaders of the party, after sitting on November 23, resolved to give the institutional support of radicalism, within the framework of the presidential second round, to Don Gabriel Boric Font. The Radical Party of Chile, close to celebrating 158 years of history, does not mistake its path or separate it from democracy,” he added. On the other hand, the PR also referred to the resignation of the presidency of the party of Carlos Maldonado, for which he thanked “his effort and commitment with a radical look in the most complex moments that the country has experienced in recent decades,” assuring that “his contribution continues to be fundamental for the challenges that come.” The National Table of the Radical Party will be chaired by the co-religionist Alberto Robles Pantoja, who will later call for internal elections to define a new board of directors for radicalism,” he concluded.
