As they explained, these results have been possible thanks to the creation of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Investigation of the Crime of Feminicide that has the appropriate personnel and workloads, which has allowed the investigations not to be stopped until all lines of investigation are exhausted.
On other crimes such as sexual assaults, during 2021 838 aggressors have been linked to the process, 285 more than in 2019, that is, an increase of 52%.

On November 25, 2019 and after convulsive months in which women and feminist collectives took to the streets demanding that the authorities guarantee their safety, the head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, decided to activate the alert for gender violence.
To guarantee the demands, it was required that the entire administration be articulated, so from the beginning different actions were launched both in public space and public transport such as safe trails, the Viaja Segura program or the Mi Taxi App, as well as a series of regulatory changes.
These include the creation of the Public Registry of Sex Offenders; the initiative to recognize and typify digital violence – the so-called Olympia Law; the creation of the DNA Bank; the initiative so that in cases of domestic violence it is the aggressor who must leave the house; as well as the initiative to sanction the improper dissemination and reproduction of photos of victims, known as the Ingrid Law.
