AMLO announces security reinforcement for Guanajuato

The state of Guanajuato will have a reinforcement in the number of federal elements – of the National Guard and the Mexican Army – and the number of facilities, said the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
During the morning conference, the president was questioned about the lack of security support for the state of Guanajuato, to which he replied that the number of elements has increased and that it will continue to grow.
“There are 18 facilities that we already have, but 23 more are scheduled, for next year and for 2023. We want to do 15 more installations (next year). And this means more than 2,000 more elements, of presence, everything that has to do with intelligence work will also be reinforced, because this is not a matter of strength, it is of intelligence,” AMLO said.

The president denied that the Federal Government was turning its back on Guanajuato for partisan reasons, since the state is governed by the PAN Diego Sinhué. Inc
“We have more than 3,000 elements in the National Guard, in Guanajuato, which there were none, Guanajuato is one of the states that has more elements of both the National Guard and the Army, addressing the serious problem of insecurity and violence,” López Obrador said.
The measure comes after the president acknowledged the increase in violence that occurs with the neighboring state of Zacatecas on November 24 and assured that security will also be reinforced in that state.
In addition to this measure, the president of Mexico and Governor Diego Sinhué agreed before the saturation of inmates in Guanajuato, that inmates will be moved to the federal prison of Ocampo, which has a 50% occupancy.
