Messi won the Ballon d’Or: “I don’t know how much I have left but I hope it’s a lot”

The Argentine Lionel Messi was chosen by France Football magazine as the best player of the season and thus won his seventh Ballon d’Or, an all-time record for any player in the world.” I don’t know how much I have left but I hope it’s a lot, I love this,” the PSG player began by saying when he was presented with the award, recalling his comments during the 2019 ceremony, when he also won the award.

Then the soccer star referred to the consecration with the Argentine football team: “I always felt that I had a thorn in my side and this year it was the opposite, I was able to achieve the dream I wanted so much,” he said upon receiving the award.
“A big part of the reason I get this award is because of what we did in the Copa America, I want to dedicate it to them,” said the Ten.In second place was the Polish bayern Munich scorer, Robert Lewandowski, for whom Messi had words of praise and even asked France Football to award him one for what he did in 2020, when delivery was suspended as a result of the pandemic.
“Last year everyone agreed that you went and I think they should give you the Ballon d’Or that you deserved and earned last year,” he told his opponent this year. In third place was Italy’s Jorginho, who won the Champions League with Chelsea and the Eeurocopa with Italy. Fourth was Karim Benzema, the player for whom Real Madrid asked for the award.
In fifth place was N’Golo Kanté and you just have to look at the sixth position to find the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who is now two balls behind Messi, since he has five and the Argentine seven. However, the Manchester United player is the second player with the most Golden Balls in history, ahead of Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff and Van Basten.
