Government and public sector table agree on salary readjustment: contemplates an increase of 6.1%

After two weeks of negotiations, the Ministry of Finance reported on Thursday that an agreement was reached with 14 of the 16 unions of the Public Sector Table, for the salary readjustment.
According to the detail of the proposal, a readjustment of 6.1% of workers’ salaries is considered, which will begin to take effect retroactively, starting on December 1 of this year.
Christmas vouchers, Fiestas Patrias, schooling, holidays, among others, are also contemplated. On the latter, a contribution of $100,000 is established, which will be paid in January 2022, for workers whose liquid remuneration is equal to or less than $835,000; and a $50,000 bonus for workers who have a salary of more than $835,000 and up to $2,790,000.
“What we are achieving here is an important agreement with our public sector officials, and it is an agreement that allows us to give peace of mind to the workers, in the sense that we are going to have a readjustment that was agreed by 6.1%,” said Finance Minister Rodrigo Cerda.
“We will be able to approve it quickly in Congress, to the extent that we have this agreement and that will allow us to pay this readjustment in the month of December, with their respective bonds,” he added.
