Cause of espionage to relatives of victims of the ARA San Juan: Mauricio Macri can not leave Argentina

The deputy federal judge of Dolores, Martín Bava, officially notified the defense of Mauricio Macri today that the former president is prohibited from leaving the country, following the prosecution for the alleged espionage of relatives of victims of the ARA San Juan.In the notification sent by the secretary of the court, Maximiliano Chichizola, he said: “I am writing to you by order of Your Lordship in order to inform you that on the 1st day of December of the current, the prohibition of departure from the country of the accused Mauricio Macri was ordered.”

The note, addressed to Pablo Lanusse and Jimena Pisoni, defenders of the former head of state, explained that the validity of the measure governs “from the re-entry into the Argentine Republic,” which occurred on December 1. I request that you take reason for the measure set out above,” the notification summarized. Macri was prosecuted for violating the Intelligence Law and the duties of a public official, and also suffered an embargo of 100 million pesos and a ban on leaving the country. The defense of the former president has a legal deadline until early next week to appeal the measure, to be reviewed by the Federal Chamber of Mar del Plata.
