Primavera Sound Festival will arrive for the first time in Chile in November 2022

There were almost two years in which concerts and mass events were suspended due to the pandemic, however, due to vaccination and the drop in infections, little by little this sector has been reactivated. In this context, this Tuesday the authorities announced that in November 2022, one of the largest Spanish festivals in the world will be held in the country.
Primavera Sound is the event that has positioned itself as the most anticipated megafestival by music fans worldwide, where different types and styles come together that seek to delight the public with a unique experience. The event, born in Barcelona, has had the participation of great artists such as Radiohead, The Cure, Arcade Fire, Dua Lipa, among others.
The festival, unprecedented in our country, will be held in the Bicentennial Park of Cerrillos and will be from November 7 to 13 next year. Although the guest artists are not yet known, it is expected that during the coming months the guests who will arrive in the country will be announced.
The official announcement was made this afternoon, in the same place that the musical event will take place, and was attended by the Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Felipe Ward; the governor of the Metropolitan Region, Claudio Orrego; the director of ParqueMet, Martín Andrade and the mayor of Cerrillos, Lorena Facuse, in addition to those in charge of bringing the festival to national soil, the national producer Rock Stgo.
Gabi Ruiz, director of Primavera Sound, said on the festival’s website that “the relationship between Primavera Sound and Chile comes from afar, but not only because of all the great Chilean artists who have passed through the festival. There has always been a great relationship with Chilean institutions and, in fact, Chile is one of the countries that has accompanied us the most times in Barcelona within the framework of Primavera Pro. A Primavera Sound in Santiago is the best way to take that relationship to the next level and continue to create community. A Primavera Sound in Chile was therefore necessary. It had to happen.”
For his part, in the same place, Felipe Araya, general director of Rock Stgo, said that “the most important festival in Europe has chosen Chile as a destination fills us with pride, but it is not something random (…) That the public spaces of the country are open to deliver musical experiences like this to all citizens is one of the reasons why international festivals land with confidence in our country.”
Also, in the opening ceremony, the governor of the Metropolitan Region, Claudio Orrego, explained that, currently, a working table is being created with different actors related to the industry to take charge of all the next major events in the city, and thus work preventively in the promotion of art, culture and music in the region.
Mayor Lorena Facuse also showed her adherence to the initiative and explained that this type of event will not only benefit the culture of the country, but also all the residents of the commune of Cerrillos, since they will have the opportunity to put jobs during the week in which the event is held.
“We welcome this type of initiative with joy. Ciudad Parque Bicentenario is a space where you can develop this type of events and thus position our commune in the Metropolitan Region. From the beginning we work so that this festival is linked in a positive way with the community, respecting the neighbors, with opportunities for local entrepreneurship and enhancing the culture and arts of our commune, “concluded the mayor.
