The brothers Ana Paola, Alonso and Gonzalo Castillo Cuevas asked the Chamber of Deputies for a political trial against Alejandro Gertz Manero, head of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), whom they accuse of fabricating evidence to illegally imprison his mother, Alejandra Guadalupe Cuevas Morán.
Cuevas Morán is accused of the murder of Federico Gertz Manero, brother of the public servant.
The prosecutor’s grandsons-in-law accuse him of serious and systematic human rights violations, and of abuse of functions in the public exercise, which have kept his mother imprisoned for more than a year.
When they went to the Chamber of Deputies, the brothers said that the prosecutor illegally imprisoned their mother Alejandra Guadalupe Cuevas Morán for intentional homicide.

The Castillo Cuevas brothers maintained that “we are facing a scandalous and shameful violation of human rights and justice,” and regretted that Gertz makes a “factional use of the FGR,” for which he should be impeached.
They affirmed that the persecution against his family is due to the prosecutor’s fear that the whole network of how he enriched himself illicitly, through triangulations when he was Rector of the University of the Americas, will be known.
“He is afraid that my grandmother Laura Morán, 95, may have information that his brother Federico was the prestanombres, and the incalculable fortune of the Attorney General will come to light and that is why he is not only interested in going against his sister-in-law, who did nothing, but against our mother and wants to put us in jail.” denounced Gonzalo Castillo Cuevas.
The family said that in the file they delivered they attached audios and documents to prove the accusation.
