Engineers confront AMLO over public works decree

The president of the Association of Engineers and Architects of Mexico (AIAM), Ricardo Rodríguez, asked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) to “reflect” on the decree that shields the infrastructure works of the federal government by classifying them as national security issues. During the delivery of Architecture and Engineering Awards in the Morning on December 9, 2021, Rodríguez expressed the guild’s support for AMLO in his fight against corruption. “It is a field where there is still work to be done, corruption permeated all social strata and today it is a deep-rooted evil that we must continue to fight, working together government and civil society we will achieve the goals of Mexico that we want for our children and grandchildren,” said the president of the AIAM.
