Chamber of Deputies will file a complaint against INE for postponing revocation

The president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, announced that he will file a complaint against the National Electoral Institute (INE) for postponing the consultation to revoke the mandate.
Gutiérrez Luna said that the decision to suspend the revocation process “constitutes the breach of a legal mandate and at the same time constitutes a fraud to a resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation by evading its fulfillment.”
He explained that the complaints will be filed with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the Comptroller’s Office of the autonomous public body itself for the probable administrative and criminal responsibilities, for the possible commission of the crimes of abuse of authority and coalition of public servants, among others.

He added that “the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, in a precautionary manner, denied the INE the suspension that it had requested so as not to make budgetary adjustments. The Court did not agree with the incident of suspension of the institute, so the revocation process must continue.”
He also said that this attitude, which violates the rule of law, has as its origin the DEMAND of the INE for more money, without understanding that this sovereignty in exercise of the exclusive power in budgetary matters, determined to allocate sufficient resources to that constitutional body.

Yesterday, the General Council of the INE endorsed with six votes in favor and five against the suspension of the exercise of revocation of mandate, scheduled for next April 10, in the absence of a budget.
“Despite the efforts in the budgetary adequacy, this electoral authority will barely have the capacity to fund 1 in 3 pesos of what the revocation of the mandate would cost, which would lead this Institute to violate the provisions of the Constitution,” said the counselor president Lorenzo Córdova,
