Morena returns $547 million pesos to the INE; Delgado calls for impeachment vs counselors

The national president of Morena, Mario Delgado, went this Sunday to the National Electoral Institute (INE) to return 547 million pesos from the party “so that they are destined to the health of the people.”
In a video shared through his social networks, Delgado said that the money “returned” is the one that was missing to fulfill the commitment that Morena made, to return half of its public financing to address the emergency due to the pandemic.

While some INE advisors are going to charge a bonus of more than half a million pesos, because they do not like austerity, in @PartidoMorenaMx we show that we have a word!

He explained that “this 2021, Morena received one thousand 600 million pesos as part of the prerogatives that by law correspond to us, of which, we committed to return half to support the government in the purchase of vaccines against COVID. During the month of April we returned 50 million, in May 50 million and in August 50 million, while this December we returned 102 million more, and today we come to deliver 547 million. ”
Delgado said that his party has a word, and even though some INE advisers “in a tricky way and under bureaucratic technicalities have repeatedly refused to accept that Morena returns the money, what he promised is being fulfilled.”
“This is the check that Morena returns to the health of the people of Mexico, while some counselors are going to collect a bonus of more than half a million pesos, because they do not like austerity. We show that politics can be done without wasting public resources,” he said.
This, in reference to the decision of the INE to postpone the consultation to revoke the mandate due to lack of resources for its realization, a fact for which several members of Morena have proposed that a political trial be carried out against the electoral councilors.

On this issue, Delgado called on morena’s parliamentary fraction in the Chamber of Deputies and its allies to speed up the request to carry out the impeachment.
“After approving the suspension of the process of revocation of mandate, these councilors today have decided to head the conservative bloc with the intention of stopping the advance of participatory democracy in Mexico,” he said.
Finally, he urged the councilors “to commit themselves to defending participatory democracy as they defend their luxuries and privileges.”
