Anfp Board of Directors intercedes and joins the complaint against Melipilla for possible double contracts

Deportes Melipilla is in the middle of an investigation that is being resolved in the First Chamber of the Court of Disciplines of the ANFP for possible double contracts, a situation that has them expectant since they risk losing the category and in the worst case the disaffiliation. Today new points were added in the case with the inclusion of the board of directors of the governing body in the complaint against the ‘foals’.
Although in the first instance the board of directors of the ANFP “had concluded that there were no merits or sufficient background that would allow the Association to file a complaint against the Club indicated before the Autonomous Court of Discipline”, now the situation is completely different.
According to a letter in which El Deportivo de La Tercera had access, the ANFP delivered documentation to the First Chamber, where they considered that “the board, after an extensive analysis and an exchange of opinions, agreed that the ANFP should become a party to this case, as well as to any other of similar characteristics, in order that the new antecedents be sent to the Tribunal, that these are investigated and that if it is considered plausible, that the offender be punished”.
They also added that “it is important to highlight and inform the Court that -as of today- December 21, 2021, this Executive Secretariat received new information and documentation related to the complaint being investigated, different from the one that had been previously seen and that it was immediately brought to the attention of the board, given its apparent forcefulness and robustness.”
Finally, they indicated that “to accede to the request, considering the National Association of Professional Football as an intervening party in the case currently before this Honorable Court, in accordance with the provisions of article 23 of the Code of Civil Procedure.”
This complaint was made by 12 teams of the First Division of Chilean football, headed by Universidad de Chile, who also entered the controversy after the complaint of Melipilla for an eventual double contract in the former blue defender, Ramón Arias.
