Morena’s bets for 2022

Morena announced who will be its candidates for elections in six states in 2022. Among them are legislators, former candidates, and those who were superdelegates of the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The entities where there will be elections will be: Aguascalientes, Durango, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo and Tamaulipas. These are the representatives of the party in 2022.

AGUASCALIENTES
Nora Ruvalcaba Gámez has twice been a candidate for governor of the state, first in 2010 with the PRD and then in 2016 with Morena, and has already served as a local deputy. She was an official of the Institute of Education of Aguascalientes in the management of the PRI Carlos Lozano de la Torre.
In 2019 she joined as regional coordinator of the Institute to Return the Stolen to the People, and in 2021 she assumed as superdelegate of social programs in her state.

QROO
In 2018, Mara Lezama won the mayoral election of Benito Juárez (Cancun), and in 2021 she was re-elected to that position for a second three-year term. 
The 52-year-old Lezama has worked as a host and media director in Quintana Roo. The year 2016 was the first time she ventured into politics, when Morena had appointed her as flag bearer to the same mayor’s office, but she declined, alleging death threats.
According to her curriculum registered with the National Transparency Platform (PNT), Lezama has a degree in Communication Sciences with a specialty in Marketing and Advertising.

TAMAULIPAS
Senator Américo Villarreal is a doctor and has held management positions in hospitals in Tamaulipas. He was also medical coordinator of Pemex. In June 2019, Reform Announced that the then leader of Morena, Yeidckol Polevnsky, accompanied by Villarreal, used a private plane to make trips in the framework of the state elections of Tamaulipas that year.
DURANGO
José Ramón Enríquez Herrera is a doctor and was municipal president of the capital of Durango from 2016 to 2018.
The mayor of Gómez Palacio, Alma Marina Vitela Rodríguez, has been a local and federal deputy, and leader of the PRI in her state. In 2018 she won the federal deputation election for Morena, a position from which she requested a license to participate as a candidate for municipal president, which she also won.
HIDALGO
Ex-PRI Senator Julio Menchaca has been a local deputy, president of the Superior Court of Justice of Hidalgo and an independent candidate for mayor of Pachuca.
OAXACA
Senator Salomón Jara has been a federal and local deputy. He was also founder and state leader of the PRD in Oaxaca, and founder of Morena in that state. In 2016 he was a gubernatorial candidate for that party, but was defeated by PRI member Alejandro Murat.
A candidate for the candidacy that fell by the wayside was the federal deputy of the PT Benjamín Robles Montoya, who has been a local deputy and senator, founder of the PT and candidate for governor in 2016 for that party.
