A worrying increase has had the hectares affected by the forest fires that are registered, according to data from Conaf, in four regions of the country.
The fire went from covering 600 to 900 hectares in the O’Higgins region, while in Quillón, in the Ñuble region, they exceeded a thousand. Meanwhile, the fire that affects Almendros Dos, on the border of Angol and Los Sauces in La Araucanía, has already devastated 9,000 hectares. In this last emergency, teams from Conaf, Carabineros, Firefighters, Onemi, PDI and the Army are working.
In Los Lagos, the fire in the commune of Puerto Montt, is “active with intensity and low spread on the front of advance” and there are sectors that maintain “discontinuous foci within the burned area”. From Conaf they indicate, and in a preliminary way, that the accident in the region has consumed 13 hectares.
