AMLO denies that he has sent to investigate officials before the FGR

The President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, said that during his administration he has never sent to investigate any official before the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) or before the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
During the morning conference, the federal president said that they are not investigating anyone and that the only recommendation he makes from his government is that if any official knows something or received information, that they proceed before the authorities.
“If there is a complaint or a request for information from a foreign government they have to proceed and notify the competent authority because if we do not become accomplices. I haven’t had anyone investigated since I’ve been president,” he said.

López Obrador said that in his administration he only asks for caution with officials linked to Genaro García Luna, secretary of Public Security in the administration of Felipe Calderón, or with those officials who have open criminal proceedings from previous six-year terms.

It rules out that FGR investigation threatens the autonomy of the INE
Minutes earlier, the president was questioned about the investigation opened by the FGR against six electoral counselors and the executive secretary of the National Electoral Institute (INE) for postponing the Revocation of Mandate.
López Obrador ruled out that this investigation is a threat to the autonomy and freedom of the INE and celebrated that Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies and who filed the criminal complaint against the Institute before the Prosecutor’s Office, is already going to withdraw it.
“The legislator (Sergio Gutiérrez Luna) who filed this criminal complaint has already accepted, withdrawing it,” he said.
The president of the Republic exhibited a series of tweets made by PAN deputy Santiago Creel, in which he describes the investigation against the electoral councilors as “a serious error.”

The president of the Republic criticized creel’s role when he was secretary of the Interior and “the bar associations and all that sphere of conservatives” because “they did the same” when the immunity procedure was initiated against him when he was Head of Government of Mexico City.
“None of them said anything… They did this to me and there is evidence,” he said.
“They did the same against me and did not recant, they followed him. No way creel didn’t find out when (Vicente) Fox sent for the president of the Court, Mariano Azuela, to instruct him to discourage me,” he added.
