Pablo Cerda and his return to TV: “I want to surprise dancing”

After the success of “Pacto de Sangre”, the last TV series he recorded, Pablo Cerda (41) left Chile. First he was in Buenos Aires and then, in 2019, he left for Spain to study screenwriting, with the idea of writing and directing a new film. There he was when the social explosion occurred in Chile and also when the pandemic broke out. That’s why now that he’s back, he sees this stage of his career as “a new beginning.” One that will have him back on screen, no longer showing his acting talent, but one that had more relegated to his past: dance. Pablo Cerda was a dancer of the Municipal Theater of Santiago, a career that he abandoned for acting as a result of the injuries he suffered and that he will now resume in the new star of Canal 13, “Aquí se baila”, which will premiere next Monday, January 10. I accepted the invitation a bit in the mood for a fresh start. After these last two years that have had us so locked up, I find that we live a new beginning, and within that I wanted to share with the people who follow me this part of me, with which I began my career, as a dancer, that I have never exposed, and that now I am happy to put on screen and deliver joy and entertainment. I’m happy to dance again, and to do it in the middle of this group of stars, I’m a fan of everyone who is participating. I think there are great talents, a lot of diversity, it has been very pleasant, trying to be at the level, rehearsing a lot, always calmly so as not to demand so much from the body. No, I feel very happy; the nerves and cravings are gone. I feel very calm, very happy and learning a lot. Because these celebrities do not dance alone, there are 20 dancers who accompany these celebrities, they are 40 stars of Chilean dance. So there is much to learn, there is much to look at, observe and enjoy. I feel like I’m coming to a party and all I want is to be able to entertain and, as well as surprise with my roles, to be able to surprise this time by dancing. Although he is known for his roles in tv series such as “El camionero” and “Pacto de Sangre”, and in films such as “Velódromo” (2010), Pablo Cerda made his debut as a film director in 2012 with his debut film “Educación física”. And this year she plans to shoot her second film, which she says is “a story of a woman journalist who arrives in South America looking for illegal trafficking.” To work on that story was that he decided to spend the last time in Madrid, Spain, with the desire to perfect himself and fulfill his dream of “writing and directing my own stories”, says the actor. I am very happy, very happy, I feel that there is a new beginning and I also feel that I refloat and start from scratch. I have already spent 20 years of my career, grateful for what I have achieved, but already thirsty to be able to dedicate myself to films,” says Cerda. “It’s where I want to direct my maturity, always thinking about those who follow me, without neglecting acting, because it’s what I like and it has paid me life and career until today,” he adds. The cast is international, I need to close it. From Chile there is Franco Toledo and Francisco Melo and there is a European star, who is the protagonist. In this past no, I write I produce and direct, nothing less or nothing more.
