Mayors deliver letter in La Moneda asking the Government for “immediate actions” for acts of violence in the country

A group of mayors arrived at the Office of Parts of La Moneda to deliver a letter addressed to President Sebastián Piñera. In the letter, they request concrete actions in the face of acts of violence such as those that occurred in the Metropolitan Region and Valparaíso in the last hours. “We have tremendous concern about the situation of insecurity in our country in the face of the failure of the policy of Sebastián Piñera and his government,” began the head of the commune of Santiago, Irací Hassler. “We have seen in recent weeks situations of tremendous gravity that hurt us deeply as a country, and that need immediate actions from the Government. There are only a few days left of this government, but it is urgent to take action in the face of the homicides and violent acts that we have experienced,” he said. Among the authorities who attended the Government Palace, there was also the mayor of Lo Espejo, Javiera Reyes; de Macul, Gonzalo Montoya; de Pirque, Jaime Escudero; de Renca, Romy Alamo; from Peñalolén, Carolina Leitao; from San Miguel, Érika Martínez; from Quilicura, Paulina Bobadilla; from San Joaquín, Cristóbal Labra; from Quinta Normal, Karina Delfino; and Independence, Gonzalo Durán.
