President-elect commits working table with SMEs

In an appointment that lasted about an hour, the President-elect, Gabriel Boric, committed to the representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to form a working table once the new government is installed to analyze the situation that the sector is going through. The meeting was attended by Helen Kouyoumdjian, executive vice president of the Federation of Tourism Companies of Chile; Juan Araya, president of the National Confederation of Truck Owners of Chile; Héctor Sandoval, vice president of Conapyme; and Froilán Flores, vice president of the Confederation of Free Fairs.After the appointment, the vice president of Conapyme said that the table committed by Boric will address issues such as “the timely payment to 30 days either of private or of the State and the cooperation between the government and the organizations representing SMEs”. In addition, the instance would address issues such as the minimum wage and tax reform.” All SMEs made themselves available to the government and the president-elect to solve the problem of bad public policies that has resulted in a loss of market share that is relevant,” added the leader. The union representative said that “the sector that assumes the largest labor force in the country is dying little by little.” Frolán Flores, representative of the free fairs, meanwhile, valued that the organization for the first time has been invited to a meeting “of this magnitude” and maintained that the work table “will be four-legged, not with three. We are valid interlocutors for the new magistracy and that is very important for the country.”
