Johannes Kaiser defended the criticized macho routine of the Locos del Humor in Rio Bueno

Repudiation and controversy has caused the routine presented by the humorous duo ”Locos del Humor” at the festival “La Semana de Río Bueno”. The above for containing sayings and mockery towards women, sexual minorities and migrant population, thus being classified as sexist and misogynistic.
Faced with this, the elected deputy, Johannes Kaiser, reacted through Twitter, where he defended the criticized routine. “The cancel culture continues to advance. The day will come when we will have to go down to the basement to laugh, for fear of the police of humor…”

However, various authorities and organizations were blunt in commenting that routine is not humor, but corresponds to a form of gender violence.
For example, through the same platform, Minister Mónica Zalaquett declared, “as the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity we are categorical: this is not humor, it is violence. I condemn the expressions of the routine of “Locos del Humor”. While we work to promote a cultural change where the dignity of all women is respected, unfortunately others are going in the opposite direction”.

Another opinion totally different from that of Kaiser, was from the mayor of Río Bueno, Carolina Silva, who through a statement rejected the presentation of the duo and regretted the “stereotypes and gender aggressions, which I do not share personally and neither from the institution I represent. Times have changed and we expected humor routines to fit in tune with the advances in gender equity that have cost so much.”
Even the Feminist Front of Social Convergence of the Los Ríos region issued a statement, where they were clear in transmitting how serious these situations are and that they deliver erroneous messages to citizens, especially children. “These types of shows do not go according to the new times where a greater female presence is required”.

As the Feminist Front of Social Convergence Los Ríos, we want to express our absolute repudiation of the routine of the comedians “Los Locos del Humor”, who were present during the weekend just past in the week of Rio Bueno on its 247th anniversary. pic.twitter.com/XVjNnQpHfc

It should be remembered that this is not the first time that the ex-Republican makes statements of this type, since, during 2021 it went viral and criticized when Kaiser questioned the right to vote of women. “Women stop going to the park to jog because they are afraid of immigrants who can rape them, but they continue to vote for the same parties that are bringing those people and you really wonder if the right to vote (women) was a good idea,” were the sayings of the next parliamentarian.
Finally, and according to what was recorded in La Cuarta, the group apologized for the routine carried out, “henceforth, in our shows, we will not use routines that can be considered misogynistic, violating the rights of people, women or sexual or discriminatory minorities, because we understand that those assertions generate harm to an important group of our population and is not a reason for routines that pretend to make people laugh.”
