The opening ceremony of Beijing 2022 started this Friday (04.02.2022), which makes the Chinese capital the first city to organize the summer and winter Olympic games, a milestone in Olympic history, despite a complicated context marked by the coronavirus pandemic, diplomatic tensions and various controversies.
As in the 2008 Summer Games, Beijing’s stunning National Stadium, better known by the nickname “Bird’s Nest,” hosts the glow of the opening ceremony of the 2022 Winter Games.
As 14 years ago, the show was conceived by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, author in 2008 of a splendid patriotic and colorful celebration.
