Trial of Caval Case against Natalia Compagnon and Sebastián Dávalos was advanced

The Oral Criminal Court of Rancagua advanced the start date of the oral trial against Natalia Compagnon, Sebastián Dávalos and Mauricio Valero for the scam of the so-called Caval Case.
Although the start of the trial was scheduled for June 22 of this year, the court decided that it would begin on March 29 at 9:00 a.m.
In this aspect, the businessman Gonzalo Vial owner of Inversiones Graneles denounced the defendants for possible economic damage due to a series of consultancies carried out between 2012 and 2013, in which he would have acquired a series of reports that would have been plagiarized by Caval for a sum of $ 1,335 million, which meant that the accused were formalized for the crimes of fraud and infringement of the Intellectual Property Law.
The advance of the trial occurred after the lawyer of the son of former President Michelle Bachelet, Carlos Fierro, filed an appeal for amparo to accuse violation of rights, as he spoke with Radio Bío Bío, where Fierro said that this decision “reinforces the principle that every citizen who is subjected to a judicial process has the right to be tried within a reasonable and fair time.”
