16 states in green and 16 in yellow

The next two weeks, Mexico will have 16 states in green at the traffic light of epidemic risk for COVID-19 and 16 states in yellow, according to the map released Friday by the federal Ministry of Health.
This classification will be in force from Monday, February 21 to Sunday, March 6.
The states in green are:

Baja California.
Baja California Sur.
Durango.
Zacatecas.
San Luis Potosi.

Veracruz.
Guanajuato.
Michoacan.
Warrior.
Puebla.
Tlaxcala.
Tabasco.
Chiapas.
Campeche.
Yucatan.
Quintana Roo.

The states in yellow are:

Sonora.
Chihuahua.
Coahuila.
Nuevo Leon.
Tamaulipas.
Sinaloa.
Nayarit.
Jalisco.
Aguascalientes.
Colima.
Queretaro.
Hidalgo.
State of Mexico.
Mexico City.
Morelos.
Oaxaca.

This is the COVID traffic light.
The last two weeks, the traffic light has had zero states in red, 15 in orange, 13 in yellow and four in green.
At the same time, the federal Ministry of Health reported on Friday on the figures of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
After the cut of this day, the number of accumulated cases amounts to 5 million 387 thousand 854, while that of deceased people is 315 thousand 055.
Mexico is going through its fourth wave of infections, mainly driven by the Ómicron variant. Unlike the previous ones, it is more transmissible although it also causes less serious pictures of the disease, according to the available evidence.

On February 28, it will be two years since the first case of COVID-19 was registered in the country. The first death was reported on March 18, 2020.
The federal health authorities, led by the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, are confident that the fourth wave of infections will maintain a downward trend, which would allow the pandemic to be controlled.
