Journalist Juan Carlos Muñiz murdered in Zacatecas, the seventh case of the year

Journalist Juan Carlos Muñiz, a contributor to the newspaper Testigo Minero, was murdered on Friday in the municipality of Fresnillo, Zacatecas.
According to the media, Juan Carlos was known in the area as Rigoberto or the TX and collaborated for years in Testigo Minero and other media, and at the same time worked as a taxi driver.

Meanwhile, David Monreal, governor of Zacatecas, regretted the murder of the journalist and said he had asked the Prosecutor’s Office to do “the corresponding work to clarify this fact and find those responsible.”
Juan Carlos Muñiz is the seventh journalist killed so far in 2022.
In January, José Luis Gamboa was murdered in Veracruz); as well as Margarito Martínez, Lourdes Maldonado, both in Tijuana, Baja California. That same month, Roberto Toledo was murdered in Zitácuaro, Michoacán.
In February, Heber López was murdered in Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, and 15 days later reporter Jorge Camero was killed in Empalme, Sonora.
