“Putin murderer!”: protesters shout in Chile against Ukraine’s war

Hundreds of people demonstrated this Saturday at the gates of the Russian Embassy in Santiago against the war in Ukraine and shouting “Putin murderer!”
With Ukrainian flags, blue and yellow balloons in homage to the colors of the flag and posters with messages against the armed conflict and in favor of peace, among the demonstrators were many Ukrainians, but also Chilean citizens.
This is the second rally at the gates of the Russian legation after the one held a week ago, when the conflict had just begun.

The Ministry of Defense also reported on Saturday that “it withdrew the invitation to Russian companies that were going to participate in the International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE), which will be held between April 5 and 10.”
Organized by the Chilean Air Force, FIDADE is the main aerospace and defense fair in Latin America and brings together exhibitors from more than 40 countries.
Chile, which has neither an embassy nor a consulate in Ukraine, condemned the Russian invasion from the beginning and last week reported that there were 53 nationals located in different Ukrainian cities, from which they have been fleeing progressively.
The third round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations to seek a cessation of hostilities will take place next Monday, March 7, on the Polish-Belarusian border.
At the last meeting, which took place on March 3, both sides reached an agreement for the establishment of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians.
However, its planned opening on Saturday was suspended for military operations of which Russia and Ukraine accused each other.
