Nucleus on the international final of Combate Freestyle: “I want freestyle to win, there are no flags”

After two years of battles in Latin America, comes the international final of Combate Freestyle, organized by Space, with the participation of the best exponents of the national competitions, who will enjoy for the first time the spectacularity of the live public. The event will take place this Friday, March 25 from 7 p.m. at the Art Media Complex, in Buenos Aires. Tickets are already on sale from Ticketek. In addition, it can be seen live from 20.30 hours on the Youtube channel of Combate Freestyle and on the Space channel. Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Mexico will be the countries represented in the competition that will have MKS as host, and Stuart, Dtoke and Núcleo, as jurors. For their part, DJ Stuart and DJ Zone will be the DJ’s of the evening. While the MC’s present will be Klan, Replik, Mecha, MP, GSony and Larrix (Argentina), Riddle, Basek, Drose, Metalinguistics and Bearing (Chile), Stick (Peru), Vallest (Colombia) and Rapder (Mexico).

In an exclusive interview with Filo.News, Nucleo AKA TintaSucia, was very enthusiastic about this new competition that will have the pleasure of adding to his long career, after a small absence in the world of freestyle because he decided to work more on his own music. Despite his absence in events, he never left aside the competitions: “I’m preparing well, I’m always active with freestyle. Always training and being aware of what happens in battles. You have to be updated, times change and evolution is constant.” In this sense, he elaborated: “I got back into the battles once I finished my album Barras, the combat people do things very seriously, it is a nice laburo and a very important responsibility. I don’t like to miss these events,” and highlighted the particularity of the Freestyle Combat format: “The first one who attacks always runs at a disadvantage. It puts them in a different situation, I went through several Freestyle Combats and I was quite surprised because the MC’s are in another situation, they take out superpowers. It’s a very interesting format. I like it.”

He also explained what he values when listening to competitors and their methods when deciding their vote: “First to do freestyle I like them to rap well. I value punchline, techniques, everything, but the basis is to rap well. Rhyme and have flow. There are punches that overcome flows because it is in the framework of a battle and the one who hits harder wins. It’s very important to follow the time and rap well.” He added: “There are many competitors now who don’t rap as much and are more of recounting or answering some things with a lot of coherence, but I still have that desire to listen to rapping. It has happened to me. I want freestyle to win, there are no flags.” “If you answer, you have a point in favor because you always have the answer. The one who enters has to propose and for me he has a plus the first, if the one who answers wins it is because he was far above the other. When I see him very evenly matched, he has a plus that attacks, because the position from which he has to play is more difficult. The other has more served everything, the answer and if he does not liquidate it and comes out tied, for me the one who attacks wins because it is already an advantage, “he said. In addition, he highlighted the great variety of styles that will be on March 25 at the Art Media Complex: “I was seeing that they adapted very well to the format with very different styles, there you have a Replik or an MP. They are different MC’s, you have to see what comes out in those minutes and those entries. Or you can explode or go unnoticed. They are moments, sometimes they are with the lights on and they respond everything. It goes with motivation.”
The experienced rapper of 38 years, who holds the record of being the rapper with the most albums released, praised the new generations: “The other day Came Teorema al Triangulo, we were freestalando. A few days ago Jesse Pungaz’s 24/Siempre came out. We’re always rapping, that makes me always up to date. Jesse dazzles me about the new ones, raps very well, has good bars, is smart. It has great potential.” And he highlighted the historical ones: “There are freestylers like Klan who pass the years and continue to win and continue to renew. It is an added value, not everyone knows how to maintain.”
“Replik is a mind, he is in search of something that when he finds it and finishes polishing it is something different and very interesting. I like what he does, I always found him to be a special kid. Maintains your profile”

On the other hand, on the explosion of freestyle, he was very happy and compared the present with the time in which he competed, 15 years ago: “To me sincerely this present makes me very happy. When we rapped we did it for love because we were hip hop, we were part of the culture and we did a branch. Now there are freestylers who are dedicated to freestyle, they don’t even listen to rap. They rap very well and prepare for that, for us it was another complement to our life.” And he recalled: “You lived differently, there was no sponsor, there were no big battles, there was not so much public nor could you live from this, even if you are the champion. We fight for all this to grow, we support the whole movement. It is a prize that we have to know how to take advantage of, we have to professionalize. There is an industry and a market that we have to use by doing our bit to keep it real.” Finally, he told how it is a process of composition and anticipated details of his new album, called Gemas, which will be released in about a month and a half: “When I manage to have six or seven songs I say here I have an idea, it is an era. I say I’m going to make a record. Laburo on something started. Everything is being put together. In a month my next album called “Gemas” comes out. We are preparing all the videos so that it has a nice presentation,” he concluded.
