New arrest warrants for Gutiérrez de la Torre are carried out

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City (FGJCDMX) completed new arrest warrants against Cuauhtémoc Gutiérrez de la Torre, former leader of the PRI in the capital, for his probable participation in the crimes of attempted trafficking in persons and criminal association; this, as a result of new victims who came forward to report.
It should be remembered that Gutiérrez de la Torre was arrested since December 2021 and at the beginning of January a judge ordered him to be linked to the process, when he was accused of the crime of human trafficking, in its modality of aggravated sexual exploitation, and criminal association against four women.

The new arrest warrants were notified to the former leader inside the Federal Center for Social Readaptation Number One.
The same order was made against Adriana “N” and Claudia Priscila “N”, who were alleged collaborators of Gutiérrez de la Torre and were even arrested before the former official. They were notified at the Women’s Center of Santa Martha Acatitla.
In a message to the media, Ernestina Godoy, Attorney General of the CDMX, reported that once the new orders were notified, a hearing was held at the Oriente Preventive Prison to take the preparatory statement of the three people; however, women reserved their right.

“This Tuesday the legal situation of the three people will be resolved. With the evidence we have presented, we hope that the judicial authority will issue a formal prison order,” he said.

The prosecutor clarified that the evidence obtained from the investigations of the agency is “only” what supports the accusation against Cuauhtémoc Gutiérrez, and assured that it has nothing to do with his political or social activity.
In April 2014, Gutiérrez de la Torre was removed from his position as leader of the PRI in the country’s capital because he was being investigated for allegedly running a prostitution ring.
In carmen Aristegui’s program, in MVS News, an investigation was released on young people recruited to be part of a prostitution network through classified ads in which female personnel between 18 and 32 years old were requested to work in government offices with a salary of between 8,000 and 14,000 pesos per month.
People who called the published phones were summoned to the PRI offices in the country’s capital.
On March 9, 2021, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office obtained an arrest warrant against Gutiérrez de la Torre for his probable responsibility in the crimes of human trafficking and criminal association.
In turn, he asked Interpol to issue red cards for the search, location and apprehension of four people, including Cuauhtémoc Gutiérrez.

The city prosecutor’s office requested the help of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the National Institute of Migration (INM) and state prosecutors’ offices to search for and locate the accused.
In addition, he asked the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) of the Ministry of Finance to freeze the bank accounts of Gutiérrez de la Torre.
The same FIU identified the former PRI leader, along with 21 other people, as possible involved in money laundering that would have as its origin the sexual exploitation of women.
