Sandra Cuevas resumes activities as mayor of Cuauhtémoc

This Friday, Sandra Cuevas, mayor of Cuauhtémoc, resumed her activities after being suspended from office and achieving a reparation agreement yesterday with capital police, who accused her of abuse of authority, qualified theft and discrimination.
The public official reported that she began her activities at 5:30 in the morning with work meetings in the mayor’s office and a tour in the Santa María La Ribera neighborhood to maintain the Morisco kiosk.

Yesterday, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City reported that a reparative agreement was authorized in the process between Cuevas and capital police.
The spokesman of the capital prosecutor’s office, Ulises Lara, explained that the reparation agreement contemplated paying the cost of a radio transmitter and a cell phone, as well as an economic reparation of 30 thousand pesos to each of the victims, before Monday, March 28.
In addition, the official must undergo, for six months, psychological treatment and offer public apologies to the commanders who denounced her.

Moments later, Cuevas offered that apology, although he denied having committed an aggression or a lack of further consideration.
“I also apologize from my heart to Eduardo, Faustino and Marco, if they consider it a harm,” he said outside the prison where the hearing was held.
On March 14, a Mexico City control judge ordered the mayor to be temporarily suspended from office due to allegations against her.
