A 30-year-old woman was beaten to death in Entre Ríos

A 30-year-old woman was beaten to death Saturday night in the town of Maria Grande, Entre Ríos province. According to police sources, the victim’s current partner was arrested for femicide. The incident occurred in a vacant lot located in Carlos Gardel e Intendente Taborda, in the municipality near the city of Paraná, which the police attended after the call of the neighbors for a shouting argument between two people. According to the sources, upon arriving at the scene, the police officers found a woman, identified as María Belén Olote (30), beaten to death, so they gave intervention to the Homicide staff and the Gender Violence Prosecutor’s Office of Paraná to work at the scene of the crime. Also, the experts of the Directorate of Criminalistics and forensics intervened, who after a first review determined to transfer the body of the woman to the morgue of Oro Verde, where this morning the autopsy of rigor was carried out. The sources indicated that, according to the data gathered preliminarily, Olote was attacked with blows, allegedly with a blunt element that caused serious injuries to her head. Based on various testimonies, the suspicions in the case pointed to the current partner of the victim, nicknamed “Lorito”, who was arrested this Sunday and was at the disposal of prosecutors María Fernanda Ruffatti and Juan Francisco Montrull. We looked for him in all the places he used to frequent,” a head of the investigation told Telam, who indicated that in recent times the couple had had “comings and goings.” In addition, he added that they are still working to determine if the detainee had a criminal record and if there were any previous complaints of gender violence. Olote was a student of the Primary Education faculty at the “Victorino Viale” Higher Normal School in the town of María Grande. After the news of the femicide of the young woman was announced, the institution decided to remain closed on Monday.
