2 military women kidnapped in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco

Two military women were kidnapped while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) reported Thursday.
Both are wanted by soldiers, sailors and elements of the National Guard (GN) deployed in the area and in nearby places, General Vicente Pérez López, commander of the 41st Military Zone, said at a press conference.
For the search, checkpoints were installed at various sites in Puerto Vallarta.

Sedena believes that the kidnapping was committed by an organized crime group, although so far none has claimed responsibility for the fact, Pérez López said.
“We are working to look for these women, to find these military women, we have to find them alive,” the general said. “This kind of thing we can’t afford.”
“We cannot allow women to be violated in that way simply because they are military; they are housewives, they are mothers, who do not deserve treatment of that nature by criminals who, simply by the fact of wearing a uniform, treat them that way. It is something unfair, it is something vile, we must not allow this,” he insisted.

The abducted women were identified at the press conference as a pedagogical officer and a clerk sergeant. Military sources told Animal Político that they are Second Lieutenant Tania “N” and Sergeant Ana Laura “N”.
The kidnapping comes nearly a week after a man designated as a lieutenant of the Jalisco Cartel New Generation (CJNG) in Puerto Vallarta, Saúl Alejandro “N,” known as ‘Chopa’, was arrested and died after a confrontation with federal forces.
Saúl Alejandro “N” was related to the murder of former Jalisco governor Aristóteles Sandoval, which occurred in December 2020 in Puerto Vallarta.
