Israel’s Ministry of Health confirmed its first case of monkeypox in a man in his 30s, who was admitted with symptoms of the disease to a Tel Aviv hospital. After the tests studied, the health authorities confirmed the result, so the infected man was quarantined. The latter had arrived in the country after a trip to western Europe. At the moment, Israel and Switzerland are the last two countries to join the group of people affected by this disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 80 confirmed cases were reported worldwide and 50 to be verified in more than a dozen countries. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue. Skin rashes can also appear on the face and other parts of the body. As for the mortality rate, according to WHO estimates, it is usually between 1% and 10% and most of the deaths are in the younger age groups.
