No rich man has lost money with my government, says AMLO

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that during his government no rich person in the country has lost their money, on the contrary, he pointed out that they have done well.
He indicated that they receive benefits indirectly because economic development is being promoted, the continuation of the Free Trade Agreement was achieved, the growth of investment that comes from different parts of the world and that there is support for entrepreneurs and the middle class as well.
“It also helps those at the top. I can tell you that there is not a rich man from Mexico who in the time we have been governing has lost money, and I refer to the tests; on the contrary, they have done well,” he said.

During his tour in Pitiquito, Sonora, where he supervised progress on the seri people’s comprehensive development plan, he indicated that at least 70% of households in Mexico receive at least one welfare program, which is attended first to those at the bottom and “support is rising from the bottom up, not as before.”
The president mentioned that he wants to convince everyone that they have the right to live with justice, dignity and that, for the good of all, “first the poor.”

In Mexico, the richest 10% of the population earns 30 times more than the poorest 50% of the group. This wealthiest group concentrates 57% of the total income in the country, while half of the poorest own only 9%, revealed the World Inequality Report 2022.
