INE dismisses PRI complaint against Sheinbaum, Ebrard and Adán Augusto

The National Electoral Institute, through the complaints commission, declared inadmissible the PRI’s complaint against the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum; and the Secretaries of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, and of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, for allegedly committing anticipated acts of pre-campaign and campaign.

2) It denied 2 requests for precautionary measures against MC and PRI for the dissemination of spots in Hidalgo and Durango, because these are consummated acts since their transmission has already concluded.

The complaints commission determined that “the urgency or danger in the delay that justifies the precautionary measure regarding the withdrawal of journalistic notes from the digital media or the publications hosted on the social networks of the referred public servants is not noticed,” the commission concluded.

The INE determined that establishing precautionary measures would have a disproportionate effect on freedom of expression and the right to information.
This, after the PRI filed a complaint about the attendance of the secretaries and the head of government to different proselytizing acts in Hidalgo, Durango, Aguascalientes, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca and Tamaulipas, entities where elections will be held on June 5.
According to the PRI, the principles of impartiality and fairness in the electoral contest are violated and considered them anticipated acts of campaign because officials have expressed their intentions to contend for the presidential candidacy in 2024.
