Medium intensity earthquake was recorded in Tarapacá region

This Saturday, a tremor of medium intensity was registered in the northern part of the country, in the tarapacá region.
According to the information provided by the National Seismological Center of the University of Chile, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.4 degrees and the epicenter was located 16 kilometers northwest of Ollagüe at about 08:27 hours.

Meanwhile, the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy (SHOA) ruled out that the tremor registered in the Tarapacá region does not meet the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami in the things of the country.
For its part, the National Emergency Office (Onemi), did not report damage, nor injured or dead.

The National System for Disaster Prevention and Response is monitoring the situation, evaluating alterations to basic services or damage to infrastructure as a result of the earthquake.
