4 people are killed in a restaurant

Four people were killed and one more was injured Thursday in an attack inside a restaurant in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, the State Attorney General’s Office said this afternoon.
Among the fatalities are two women and two men, while the injured person is a 35-year-old man who has not yet given his ministerial declaration due to his state of health.
The attack occurred in the morning at a business located outside the Plaza Comercial Galerías Tec. According to the prosecutor’s office, at 11:17 a.m. the report of the facts was attended.

At the scene, which was cordoned off, authorities located 19 shell casings corresponding to different calibers.
The prosecutor’s office indicated that the Specialized Unit on Crimes Against Life of the North Zone District Attorney’s Office is in charge of the investigations.

Between January and April, Chihuahua recorded a total of 542 intentional homicides, according to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
Located on the border with the United States, Ciudad Juarez has historically been considered one of the most violent localities in the country. In 2010, it recorded more than 3,000 murders.
Last April, the National Survey of Urban Public Safety (ENSU) revealed that 72.2% of people over the age of 18 living in Ciudad Juárez feel unsafe in the city. The ENSU is prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) and is released every quarter.
