The prequel to “The Hunger Games” is on the way. “Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes,” the novel-based film written by the author of the dystopian fantasy bestsellers created, Suzanne Collins.La story will tell the origins of Coriolanus Snow. Before he became the president of Panem, and long before he became Katniss Everdeen’s target, he was a young man who was polishing his qualities in politics. As the tenth edition of The Hunger Games approaches, Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from District 12, is assigned to her position, whom she must train to be the winner.
This is what the project is about, which just a few days ago revealed that it will be Tom Blyth (“Scott and Sid”, “Robin Hood”) and Rachel Zegler (“Love without Barriers”, and soon protagonist of the live action of “Snow White”), who give life on the screen to Snow and Lucy Gray, respectively.

Both mentors and tributes, from both sides of panem’s dystopian society.We will then see Jerome Lance as Marcus, a tribute from District 2, specializing in mining and stone cutting; Knox Gibson as Bobbin, the District 8 tribute, characteristic for making textiles and clothing; and Mackenzie Lansing (Brianna Delrasso in “Mare of Easttown”) as Coral, a tribute to District 4, dedicated to fishing. On the Capitol side, Ashley Liao will be Clemensia Dovecote, a close friend of Coriolanus; and Aamer Husain, as Felix Ravinstill: both will become mentors of District 11 tributes.

Directed by Francis Lawrence (“Operation Red Sparrow”), filmmaker director of the original saga, will be in charge of this prequel from the script of Michael Lesslie (“Assassin’s Creed”, 2016). It plans its premiere for November 17, 2023.
